Job summary

McGraw Kokosing seeks a Cost and Controls Engineer to standardize cost processes, improve reporting, and provide reliable forecasting across multiple projects. You will lead budget setup, monitor expenditures, and analyze variances to guide decision-making.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in a related field and 2+ years in cost engineering or project controls, with strong Excel and experience in construction systems. on-site Ohio work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
• 2+ years of cost engineering, project controls, or construction accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of construction cost management principles and project workflows.
• Experience with cost management or project systems (e.g., Autodesk Construction Cloud, Viewpoint, Procore, or similar).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead project budget setup and cost structure development, ensuring alignment with estimates and standards.
• Monitor and analyze project costs, productivity, commitments, and expenditures across multiple projects.
• Develop and maintain standardized cost reports, forecasts, and dashboards.
• Support project teams with budget setup, cost tracking, and forecasting processes as needed.
• Collect project production data and generate standardized reports to develop historic productivity by team.
• Analyze variances between actual and budgeted costs and provide actionable insights.
• Assist with owner-required reporting and project-specific tracking requirements.
• Create and maintain RFIs and RFI Log.
