Schmidt Associates in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a dynamic MEP Construction Administration Manager to lead the MEP construction process across design and build phases.

You will provide leadership in coordinating mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, oversee QA checkpoints, review submittals and RFIs, and drive on-site construction activities to meet project schedules and owner goals. BIM experience is a plus and AE/Construction firm background is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires comprehensive knowledge of commercial MEP systems.
• At least 10 years of Construction Administration experience in AE or construction firms.
• Mechanical, Electrical or Plumbing design or construction related education.

Responsabilités

• Lead MEP construction process across design to construction phases.
• Advise on construction sequencing to meet Owner’s schedule.
• Provide QA checkpoints during key milestones and review submittals/RFIs.

Schmidt Associates is looking for a dynamic individual to join the organization in a Construction Administration Management capacity .

Qualifications:

Ability to provide leadership in the Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) construction process with applied experience to drive construction through Design and Construction Phases.

Responsibilities:

Project Strategies - Participate in design discussions from cost and construction perspective. Advise on construction sequencing to meet Owner’s schedule. Develop and implement strategies to complete construction on schedule.

Design Phase – Provide a Quality Assurance Checkpoint during key Design and Construction Documentation Mileposts. Provide MEP Constructability input during Design and Documentation. Serve as a technical / construction resource to the Project Team.

Construction Phase -

On MEP focused projects - Function as the Contractor’s primary daily contact. Monitor the construction schedule and identify any conditions which may cause a delay in completion. Lead construction coordination meetings. Issue agendas and meeting notes. Observe tests required by the Contract Documents. Coordinate with the Project Manager design disciplines for submittal review. Review all Contractor submittals, claim s and pay requests. Review recommended action with Project Manager. Receive Contractor’s R.F.I.’s, obtain answers from appropriate sources and issue A.S.I.’s. Initiate and issue Change Request and Change Orders.

On projects where MEP is not the primary scope – Function as MEP support for other Design Team and Construction Administrators .

This includes:

Obtaining technical descriptions and drawings from Architects / Engineers.

Maintaining Proposal Request / Change Order Log.

Reviewing Contractor quotations, obtaining Architect / Engineer comments, and preparing recommendations.

Provide MEP-specific site observations , reports and troubleshooting (moved comment from the heading above)

Experience/Education:

This position requires comprehensive knowledge of commercial MEP systems At least 10 years of Construction Administration experience as a designer, project manager, construction administrator, or related role

Mechanical, Electrical or Plumbing design or construction related education.

BIM experience is a plus

Experience in an AE or Construction Firm preferred
