Job summary
CAI is seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Engineer to join our team in Houston, guiding the installation, startup, and testing of MEP and control systems on capital projects. You will develop commissioning plans, perform functional tests, review designs, and ensure safety and quality compliance throughout all project phases.
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, has strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and control systems, and excels in troubleshooting,
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field) is required.
- Experience as a Commissioning Engineer in life sciences, semiconductors, or mission-critical industries is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
- Familiarity with commissioning procedures, testing methodologies, and industry standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to travel to job sites, including out of state.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and execute the commissioning process of MEP and control systems for projects.
- Conduct inspections, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure design specifications are met.
- Develop commissioning plans, schedules, procedures, and documentation.
- Create Pre-Functional Checklists and Functional Performance Test protocols.
- Assist with design reviews and field coordination with technicians and trade partners.
- Perform functional tests to verify system performance against design parameters.
- Prepare and review test reports and commissioning handover packages.
- Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure timely delivery.
