Job summary

HITT Contracting is seeking an MEP Assistant Superintendent to advance a career in technical MEP construction and management. The role involves field inspections, progress updates, document control, vendor coordination, and supporting startup and commissioning processes.

You will work with the project MEP Superintendent and site operations to uphold safety, schedule, and quality across the life of the project. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required, four-year degree from an accredited university with a concentration in construction, engineering, or business is strongly preferred.
• 2-5 years’ experience in commercial construction, including experience with a commercial general contractor.
• Passion for construction industry.
• Ability to recognize and seek quality.
• Strong communication skills; verbal and written.
• Strong leadership skills; able to build and lead a team.
• Aptitude for problem solving.
• Ability to work independently.
• Motivated self-starter.
• Effectively utilize computer and software technology in the performance of duties.

Responsibilities

• Maintain adherence to safety standards.
• Assist bidding mechanical and electrical trades.
• Ensure documentation is filed.
• Assist in conducting project meetings and recording minutes.
• Collaborate with the project superintendent and site operations team.
• Assist in developing an MEP critical path schedule.
• Update project schedule and overall logistics.
• Coordinate and track critical path construction and startup activities.
• Review mechanical and electrical submittals.
• Track and coordinate equipment deliveries.
• Assist MEP Manager with conflict resolution for MEP issues.
• Assist in coordinating and managing quality control for MEP systems construction.
• Assist in managing startup and pretesting of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Assist coordinating and supporting third-party commissioning activities.
• Manage commissioning documentation.
• Assist in managing the closeout process.
