The City of Chicopee's Department of Public Works - Flood Control Division is hiring a MEO - Maintenance Worker to assist in the operations, maintenance, cleaning, and repair of Flood Control and WPC facilities, including flood control pump stations, levees, and flood walls. Performs duties to operate and maintain the Flood Protection System.

Essential Duties Include:

• Operate pumps, motors, electrical equipment, power tools, mowers, tractors, and motor vehicles.
• Perform cleaning, lubrication, maintenance, and repairs on equipment.
• Assist with preventative maintenance programs.
• Clean buildings, wash windows, and manage trash.
• Work across DPW divisions, including WPC-pump stations and collection systems.
• Purchase supplies in accordance with city procedures.
• Replace worn or damaged parts in machinery and equipment.
• Drive trucks, load debris, and deliver to disposal sites.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Massachusetts Class B CDL License - Required
• High School Diploma or Equivalent, or at least 1 year of related experience/training.
