Job summary

Windsong School in Spokane, WA is seeking a Supported Lead Teacher to join our Waldorf program. The role provides mentored, hands-on professional development to prepare for a future lead grades teaching position.

You will observe and participate in classroom instruction and work with a mentor teacher. Initial 0.8 FTE with progression to 1.0 FTE and an annual salary of $42,000, plus benefits including tuition remission and professional development support.

Qualifications

• Ideal candidates are experienced teachers who are Waldorf-certified or enrolled in a training program.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education.
• Willing to pursue Waldorf certification.
• Experience with student-aged children.
• Two years of higher education or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Observe and participate in classroom instruction.
• Support classroom management and student work.
• Assist with academic and practical tasks for students.
• Contribute to lesson and curriculum development.
• Engage in self-study and mentorship activities with the lead teacher.
• Build a relationship with the class to transition to independent leadership.
