Job summary

M&S Engineering, LLC seeks a qualified, organized candidate for the entry-level Non-Exempt Distribution Designer Trainee role. This position is mentored to learn distribution design, staking, project estimation, and construction print preparation using electronic design/estimation software.

The role reports to the office and is not remote; travel and field work are required with a Texas driver’s license and insurable driving record.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; pass background check and drug screening.
• Texas Driver’s License with insurable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Represent self professionally with property owners, engineering firms, and construction resources.
• Stay abreast with technologies, work planning, and design methodologies for Electric Distribution Design.
• Take responsibility for quality, accuracy, and deadlines of work product.
• Demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Multi-task several projects with varying design iterations and priorities.
• Proficient with MS Outlook and working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word.
• Travel including overnight stays for up to five nights and work outdoors in varying climates.
• Walk terrain and carry surveying instruments for staking and design of distribution facilities.
• Use tools to locate property identifiers for staking and design.
