Job summary

Sweet P's Hybrid Microschool is seeking an Elementary Teacher to join our growing program, offering a unique mentorship to transition into elementary education and develop into an exceptional classroom teacher. Our microschool serves Pre-K through 1st grade in small multi-age classes of 11–13 students.

This growth position emphasizes nurturing relationships, individualized instruction, and ongoing professional development under a veteran educator with 33+ years of experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work effectively with young children.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professional, dependable, and punctual.
• Willingness to learn, accept coaching, and grow professionally.
• Ability to pass all required background checks.
• Ability to meet Arizona requirements for employment in a licensed childcare setting.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and actively participate in classroom and outdoor activities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons for students from Pre-K through 1st grade.
• Differentiate instruction to meet each student's academic level and learning style.
• Foster a positive, respectful, and nurturing classroom culture.
• Support students in developing strong foundational skills in reading, writing, mathematics, science, social studies, and character development.
• Assess student progress and maintain appropriate records.
• Communicate professionally with families regarding student progress and classroom activities.
• Supervise students during classroom instruction, outdoor play, meals, and transitions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe learning environment.
• Work collaboratively with the Director to continually improve instruction and the microschool program.
• Follow all Arizona licensing, health, and safety requirements.
