HURRICANE HIGH SCHOOL in Hurricane, West Virginia, part of Putnam County Schools, seeks a Mentor Teacher – Multicat/Resource for the 2026-27 school year. This extracurricular assignment offers a stipend paid by the West Virginia Department Of Education and starts immediately, ending after the 2026-27 school year.

Qualifications

Five years of teaching experience.
Must participate in training program.
Master’s degree and/or previous advanced training in teacher effectiveness.
Willingness to assist new teachers and perform responsibilities such as regular observations and monthly support team meetings.
Completion of a log book and ongoing support to new employees.

Responsibilities

Participate in a formal beginning teacher assistance program.
Help resolve problems of beginning teachers through support and observation.
Conduct follow-up conferences concerning teaching techniques and classroom management.
Assist with identifying goals and objectives and with self-evaluation of intern teachers.
