Job summary

Taylor County Board of Education seeks a Mentor, Assistant Principal for the TCS/AJES program. The role is a contract/hourly assignment for the 2026-2027 school year, located at the TCS/AJES site. Salary is a stipend of $600.00.

The incumbent will provide guidance to a beginning administrator and participate in ongoing mentoring activities under district policy. Qualifications include WV certification, completion of mentorship training or willingness to attend, and a minimum of five years

• Minimum of five (5) years administrative experience
• Satisfactory past evaluations or recommendation of principal

Responsibilities

• Provide emotional and professional support to beginning school administrator per West Virginia State Board Policy 5900 and Taylor County Policy.
• Observe/evaluate administrator as needed.
• Provide feedback monthly to candidate. Deadline for receipt of applicants is 3:00 p.m. of the fifth work day.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Sensitivity to beginning administrator needs
• Demonstrated skills in school management
• Current with the latest research on administration and learning techniques

JOB RESPONSIBILITY:
