An established educational service center is seeking a passionate Mental Wellness & Behavior Specialist dedicated to enhancing the mental health of students. This role involves delivering direct mental health services, collaborating with educators to implement effective strategies, and supporting a culture of wellness across school communities. Deliver direct mental health services to students, including diagnostic assessments and therapeutic interventions.
Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to develop and implement comprehensive behavioral and mental wellness strategies within a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).
Enhance Tier 2 and Tier 3 supports within MTSS and PBIS frameworks to better meet the needs of students with the most intensive mental health and behavioral challenges.
Facilitate professional development and job-embedded coaching for school staff and administration focused on mental health in youth, trauma-informed care, supporting challenging behavior, restorative practices, and staff resilience.
Serve as a liaison between schools and community mental health resources to ensure coordinated, wraparound support for students and families.
Supporta culture of mental wellness across school communities through evidence-based practices grounded in neuroscience and school mental health research.
Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
Active licensure as LSW, LISW, LPC, or LPCC (required).
Demonstrated experience providing mental health services within a school setting is strongly preferred.
Knowledge of trauma-informed practices, SEL, and evidence-based behavioral interventions.
Strong interpersonal, coaching, and collaboration skills.

The Montgomery County Educational Service Center is seeking a passionate and experienced Mental Wellness & Behavior Specialist to join our team in supporting the mental health and behavioral success of students, as well as support for staff and families. This vital role works directly with schools to design, implement, and sustain Tier 1, 2, and 3 supports that address the most significant barriers to student learning and well-being.
This position is ideal for a licensed mental health professional with a strong background in school-based mental health services who is committed to making a difference for students, families, and educators.
