Job summary

Prime Healthcare Mercy Medical in Aurora, IL is seeking a Mental Health Worker Inpatient to support licensed staff and patient care on nights. You will assist with activities of daily living, document care, and help maintain a safe healing environment for adults and geriatric patients.

Part-time, 12-hour night shifts (7pm–7:30am) with a sign-on bonus; eligibility discussed during interview. A CNA license or hospital MH experience is required, with BLS within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Must have current and valid CNA license issued by the state; if not a CNA, at least one year of mental health worker experience in a hospital setting.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire and keep current.
• One year of prior mental health experience preferred.
• Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed nursing staff in providing and documenting patient care, including activities of daily living.
• Support unit functions and maintain a safe, clean environment for patients and visitors.
• Communicate pertinent patient information to the supervising RN.
• Perform basic nursing care and clerical duties as assigned; follow Nursing Structure Standards and hospital policies.
• Work with adult and geriatric patients in an inpatient setting.

Responsibilities

Mental Health Worker Inpatient: Under the direction and supervision of the RN, LVN or Charge RN assist the licensed nursing staff in providing and documenting patient care including assistance with activities of daily living. Supports the unit functions and maintains a safe and clean environment for patients, visitors and co-workers; functions as an integral part of the interdisciplinary care team and communicates pertinent patient information to the supervising RN. Performs some clerical duties as assigned and provides basic nursing care for the adult and geriatric patients. Performs responsibilities within the guidelines of the Nursing Structure Standards, Hospital/Nursing Policy and state regulatory and accrediting requirements.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Must have current and valid license as a Certified Nursing Assistant issued by the State if a CNA. If not a CNA, a minimum of one year experience working as Mental Health Worker in a hospital setting preferred.
• BLS within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• One (1) year prior mental health experience preferred.
• Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology preferred.
