Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, IL is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support licensed staff and document patient care. The role includes assisting with activities of daily living and helping maintain unit safety and cleanliness.

You will work under RN supervision, communicate patient information, and perform limited clerical duties while providing basic nursing care to adults and the elderly. The position requires BLS within 30 days and preferred mental health experience.

Qualifications

• Must have current and valid CNA license issued by the State.
• If not a CNA, at least one year experience as Mental Health Worker in a hospital.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• One year prior mental health experience preferred.
• Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology preferred.

Overview

• Department: Psych Adult/ Behavioral Health
• Schedule: Full-Time, Days, 7am-7:30pm, 12-hour shifts. Rotating weeekends and holidays
• Facility: Prime Healthcare Mercy Medical
• Location: Aurora, IL 60506

Responsibilities

Under the direction and supervision of the RN, LVN or Charge RN assist the licensed nursing staff in providing and documenting patient care including assistance with activities of daily living. Supports the unit functions and maintains a safe and clean environment for patients, visitors and co-workers; functions as an integral part of the interdisciplinary care team and communicates pertinent patient information to the supervising RN. Performs some clerical duties as assigned and provides basic nursing care for the adult and geriatric patients. Performs responsibilities within the guidelines of the Nursing Structure Standards, Hospital/Nursing Policy and state regulatory and accrediting requirements.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Must have current and valid license as a Certified Nursing Assistant issued by the State if a CNA. If not a CNA, a minimum of one year experience working as Mental Health Worker in a hospital setting preferred.
• BLS within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• One (1) year prior mental health experience preferred.
• Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology preferred.
