Job summary

The Mental Health Worker at BBHH is a crucial member of our team, providing basic nursing care, assisting in daily living activities, and helping maintain a safe, therapeutic environment. Under the supervision of the Charge Nurse and unit Lead Mental Health Worker, this role also supports patient care across shifts.

The position is hourly, non-exempt, with a 12-hour schedule (6am–6pm) and a starting wage of $23.00 per hour for new hires, plus annual merit increases and night shift differential

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Handle-With-Care Training during orientation.
• At least 6 months experience in human behavior/psychiatry/social services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic nursing care and assist with activities of daily living.
• Assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment on the unit.
• Under supervision, serve as primary caregiver to patients during shifts.

Job Summary

The Mental Health Worker at BBHH is perhaps one of the most important roles in our hospital.

The amazing people who fill this role provide basic nursing care, aid with activities of daily living, and assist in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment.

Under the direction and supervision of the Charge Nurse and unit Lead Mental Health Worker, the mental health worker is the primary caregiver to all patients throughout their shift, within the job modifications and work restrictions outlined by their scope of practice.

The position is an hourly, non-exempt, overtime-eligible position with a wage starting at $23.00 for all new hires. Automatic merit increases will apply annually based on annual evaluations.

*Shift differential applies for night shift position.

This position operates on an Alternate Work Schedule of 12 hour shifts from 6am to 6pm.

Ideally, someone with at least 6 months of experience focused on human behavior, psychiatry, psychology, social services and related field will apply.
