Job summary

AdventHealth seeks a compassionate healthcare support staff member to engage therapeutically with patients and families. The role emphasizes accurate documentation, patient safety and teamwork in an acute care setting.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree (preferred) with at least 1+ year experience in mental health or related human services. BLS CPR within 90 days is preferred. Day shift, full-time, Denver-area location, with a competitive hourly pay range.

Responsibilities

• Communicates therapeutically with patients, families and staff.

• Maintains confidential patient charts and organizes workload.
• Keeps patient rooms clean and safe to support calming care.
• Operates with professional conduct and follows patient rights guidance.
• Responds to crises using de-escalation techniques and safety procedures.

Job Description:

• Communicates therapeutically with patients, families, and staff, providing age-specific interactions.
• Demonstrates professional conduct and accountability, understanding legal consequences of patient rights and responsibilities.
• Accurately documents patient care and reports findings to the Registered Nurse and/or Clinician.
• Maintains thorough and confidential patient charts and records. Organizes and prioritizes work to provide high-quality, cost-effective patient care within assigned timeframes.
• Ensures work environment and patient rooms are clean and orderly to maintain a safe and calming environment.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Ensures patient safety through continuous observation of patient environment and activities. Responds appropriately in crisis situations.
