Job summary

AdventHealth Porter in Denver, CO is seeking a compassionate team member to support patient care in an acute setting. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and Clinician, you will document care, assist in daily activities, and help maintain a safe, calming environment.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, a Bachelor's preferred, and strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ year experience in acute care or mental health settings.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire preferred.
• Strong organizational, verbal, interpersonal and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Communicates therapeutically with patients, families, and staff, with age-specific interactions.
• Documents patient care accurately and reports findings to RN and/or Clinician.
• Maintains confidential patient charts and prioritizes work for high-quality care.
• Keeps work area and patient rooms clean and safe.
• Provides assistance with patient care under RN/Clinician direction.
• Reports patient status changes promptly to RN/Clinician.
• Utilizes de-escalation techniques to ensure safety.

Job Description:

• Communicates therapeutically with patients, families, and staff, providing age-specific interactions.

• Demonstrates professional conduct and accountability, understanding legal consequences of patient rights and responsibilities.

• Accurately documents patient care and reports findings to the Registered Nurse and/or Clinician.

• Maintains thorough and confidential patient charts and records. Organizes and prioritizes work to provide high-quality, cost-effective patient care within assigned timeframes.

• Ensures work environment and patient rooms are clean and orderly to maintain a safe and calming environment.
