Position: Mental Health Therapist - Substance Use

Vesta, Inc. is a not-for-profit, financially sound mental health organization expanding throughout Maryland. We provide comprehensive behavioral healthcare, including clinics, day programs, and residential homes for individuals with mental health disorders.

We are seeking a Mental Health Therapist to deliver Substance Use services at our Lanham Outpatient Mental Health Clinic. The role involves providing counseling (individual and group sessions) to clients in our Substance Use program, along with potential individual, family, and group therapy, treatment planning, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure quality mental health care.

Hours: Full-time, Monday through Friday, with some evening flexibility for group sessions.

Qualifications: Must be a licensed Social Worker or Professional Counselor in Maryland (LGPC, LCPC, LMSW, LCSW-C, LGMFT, LCMFT) with experience working with individuals with substance use disorders. Supervision available for graduate candidates. Recent graduates and interns are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:
  1. Evaluate clients' mental and physical health, addiction, or behavioral issues and assess readiness for treatment.
  2. Assist clients in developing skills for recovery and behavior modification.
  3. Complete evaluations and assessments, including screening, intake, clinical assessments, ASAM, and biopsychosocial histories.
  4. Provide individual and/or group therapy for residents/clients and their families.
  5. Collaborate with the treatment team to diagnose, plan, and evaluate progress.
  6. Deliver social work treatment aligned with medical treatment plans, adjusting as needed.
  7. Prepare case histories, psychosocial assessments, and treatment plans for screening and diagnosis.
  8. Clinical supervision is preferred but not mandatory (LCSW-C and LCPC).
Compensation and Benefits:

Pay Range: Therapists are compensated on a fee-for-service basis, paid monthly per service. Full-time salaried positions are also available, paid bi-weekly, ranging from $66,836 to $74,856 (LGPC, LMSW, LGMFT) or $73,025 to $81,788 (LCPC, LCSW-C, LCMFT) annually.
