Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Complete risk and safety assessments on patients in the emergency department.

Job Description

The Crisis Team Qualified mental health professionals (QMHP's) work in the emergency department completing risk and safety assessments on patients identified by the medical team to need further mental health evaluation. QMHP's work with individuals experiencing varying mental health crises. QMHP's assess and work with patients and other multidisciplinary teams to determine the most appropriate plan. QMHP's also respond to other clinics/sites within the hospital as well as follow up with individuals who call the Crisis Line/988.

What You'll Need:

  • A master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, family therapy, or a related field.

  • One of the following Missouri licenses (or working toward it): LCSW, LPC, LMFT, PLPC, LMSW, or PLMFT.

  • If not yet licensed, you must agree to begin the process upon hire and follow all required steps under supervision.

  • Knowledge of mental health terms, diagnosis, and treatment approaches.

  • Basic research skills and a solid understanding of mental health theory and practice.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.

  • Good judgment, adaptability, and leadership qualities.

  • Must complete training as assigned during onboarding.

  • If driving is part of your role, you must meet company driving policy standards and maintain them.
