Early Childhood Mental Health Therapist

Job Description:


ACP is actively seeking a full-time (preferred) or part-time Community-Based Early Childhood Mental Health Therapist, working with clients in their homes and communities within the Dakota County area.

Responsibilities:



  • Conduct Diagnostic assessments utilizing DC:0-5 outcome measurements.

  • Develop and implement a treatment plan with the family based on the diagnosis.

  • Provide family therapy upon completion of the DC:0-5.

  • Foster close collaboration with other professionals dedicated to supporting children aged 0-5 and their families in Dakota County.


Requirements:



  • Master's or other graduate degrees in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields from an accredited college or university and be on track for LICSW, LMFT, or LPCC license OR be fully licensed as LICSW, LMFT, or LPCC.

  • Ability to work with diverse populations.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong clinical and collaboration skills.

  • Passion for working with youth and families.

  • Mental stability and ability to model appropriate ethics and boundaries.

  • Timely submission of documentation of services.

  • Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and willingness to travel within the Twin Cities metro area.

Preference will be given to applicants who:



  • Received training and/or utilized the DC 0-5 diagnostic assessment and have used the DC: 0-5 manual. However, we will train in these areas for those with the passion of working with this specialized population.

  • Are knowledgeable about effective early childhood mental health interventions

  • Knowledge of Early Childhood mental health treatment terminology, trends, and developments or highly motivated to learn.

  • Demonstrate knowledge and openness to learn more about trauma-informed care, neurodiversity-affirming approach, cultural diversity, and how these inform the therapeutic process.

  • Have experience working with young children (ages 0-5) and their caregivers or a strong desire to learn to work with this population


Thorough Training:



  • To support your ongoing growth, we offer our community-based therapists:

  • Orientation process to provide effective learning & independence.

  • Up to 8 hours/month (4 individual/dyad, 4 group) with board-approved, seasoned clinicians with decades of community-based experience.

  • Free professional development CEUs.

  • New provider cohort twice per month.

  • Clinical 'drop-in' times available monthly with our leadership team.

  • Opportunity to obtain experience in multiple services while on licensure track: therapy (in-home and school-based), ARMHS and CTSS, diagnostic assessments, and treatment planning.
