  • Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to train).
  • Flexibility in scheduling, as Safe Harbor is a 24/7 facility.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle (required for travel).
  • Successful MN DHS background check prior to hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide psychotherapy sessions to Safe Harbor clients at least weekly.

Essential Functions
  • Provide a clinically competent programming
  • Review and evaluate interventions delivered by staff to each client; provide instruction on alternative strategies if a client is not achieving treatment goals
  • Develop programming including Illness Management and Recovery, Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT), and independent living skills (medication self‑administration, household management, cooking & nutrition, budgeting & shopping, transportation, healthy living, employment‑related skills, and social and interpersonal skill development)
  • Meet with all Safe Harbor clients for individual psychotherapy sessions at least weekly
  • Ensure documentation requirements are met and maintained (Individual Abuse Prevention Plan [IAPP], Immediate Needs Assessment/Individual Treatment Plan [INA/ITP], substance‑use screening & assessment [CAGE‑AID], Diagnostic, Functional Assessment, or Level of Care Utilization System [LOCUS])
  • Review INA/ITP and IAPP daily and during weekly team meetings
  • Create and implement a supervision plan and ensure that supervision requirements will be met
  • Meet monthly with each Safe Harbor staff member for clinical training and supervision
  • Provide and document supervision for Safe Harbor staff members (including responsibility for evaluating treatment services required under MN Chapter 245I)
  • Review and sign all clinical documentation, including treatment plans of clients at Safe Harbor within timeline parameters
  • Maintain a current and readily available schedule and means to reach mental‑health practitioners under treatment supervision or availability within 30 minutes for emergency consults regarding individuals (may also be required for emergency consultation)
  • Assure staff on all shifts exchange information necessary to carry out individuals’ treatment plans, respond to individuals’ recovery goals, and update treatment plans & individual abuse prevention plan
  • Facilitate the clinical portion of the weekly team meeting in person; ensure staff members complete ancillary meetings when not in attendance
  • Supervise the development, modification, & implementation of recipients’ Individualized Treatment Plans and the MN Chapter245I service components
  • Complete comprehensive evaluations as necessary, including a review of clinical documentation received by the facility
  • Ensure case reviews are completed weekly and provide clinical direction for treatment planning & interventions
  • Provide supervision for person‑centered treatment planning
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of each individual’s diagnosis, treatment plan, & response to treatment
  • Screen and admit all individuals considering the Intensive Residential Treatment Services (IRTS) Admission Criteria per the MN Department of Human Services
  • Plan for discharge and complete a discharge summary as required when an individual meets program goals, is no longer eligible for services, or the provider cannot meet needs; coordinate discharge planning with the individual, case manager, and family as requested
  • Ensure compliance with DHS regulations for the IRTS/RCS
  • Evaluate and provide feedback on direct staff member competency; coach, teach, & practice skills with staff
  • Oversee Quality Assurance & improvement; review the quality assurance and improvement plan annually
  • Oversee Orientation & Training per Policies & Procedures manual guidelines; complete treatment supervision plans for all staff annually
  • Meet with the RN to ensure each recipient’s medication & medical needs are addressed per guidelines
  • Work with nursing staff, mental‑health practitioners, and certified peer specialists to develop de‑escalation strategies, appropriate responses to medical emergencies (including intoxication & withdrawal), & behavioral emergency procedures
  • Attend regional crisis meetings
  • Develop relationships with community stakeholders (area hospitals, county entities, etc.)
  • Be part of the on‑call mental‑health professional weekly rotation to ensure 24/7 availability to Safe Harbor staff
  • Provide therapeutic services to assist individuals in reducing mental‑health symptoms
Qualifications

Compensation & Benefits
  • Wage range: $74,000 – $79,000 annually (based on qualifications)
