Job summary

The Oregon Health Authority seeks a Mental Health Therapist 2 for the Salem Campus of the Oregon State Hospital. Work under supervision to provide key therapeutic services and support to patients, with shift 2:30pm–11:00pm, Monday through Friday, and weekends off.

Includes case management, therapy, and treatment classes in a secure hospital setting. Qualifications include 3 years of behavioral health experience or an applicable degree substitution; strong teamwork, leadership, and computer

Qualifications

Three years of experience with behavioral illness or physically impaired clients.
An associate or a bachelor’s degree in social science may substitute for one year of experience.
Experience in mental health field and milieu management is preferred.
Must be able to work more than 8 hours in a day and/or 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

Provide primary case management for a group of mentally, emotionally or behaviorally impaired patients.
Design, teach and evaluate classes in a treatment area such as criminality or addiction; provide behavioral therapy.
Assist with basic care, treatment, security and escort services; contribute to a positive therapeutic atmosphere.
