Job summary

Chester County Intermediate Unit is seeking Mental Health Therapists for the 2026-2027 school year. These 190-day (10-month) positions are countywide in the Division of Student Services, offering direct therapy, treatment planning, and family communication with a supportive team.

Requirements include a Master's Degree with at least one year in CASSP/school settings, a licensed mental health credential or eligibility for PA licensure, PA clearances, and a valid PA driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree and at least one year experience in a CASSP system, school, or licensed mental health services agency.
• Licensed mental health professional (LSW, LCSW, or LPC) or eligibility and initiation of PA state licensing.
• PA Driver's License required.
• Current PA Child Abuse History, PA Criminal and FBI Fingerprint Clearances required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and provide direct therapeutic interventions including group and individual therapy.
• Develop treatment plans and implement interventions to promote therapeutic recovery.
• Lead the team coordinating therapeutic intervention and complete required documentation (treatment/discharge plans, psycho-social history, progress notes, insurance forms).
• Maintain communication with the child's parent(s) to monitor and promote progress.

Vacancies exists for Mental Health Therapists (for the 2026-2027 School Year) within the Division of Student Services at the Chester County Intermediate Unit. These are 190-day (10-month) positions located countywide.

Qualifications

• Licensed mental health professional (LSW, LCSW, or LPC) or has passed a national board certification exam in a related field and is eligible for and has initiated the PA state licensing process required.
• A Master's Degree and at least one year experience in a CASSP system, school, or employed by a licensed mental health services agency or subcontracted agency, required
• PDE School Social Worker Educational Specialist Certificate PK-12 preferred
• Documented training and experience in positive behavior supports, team coordination, agency collaboration, applied and cognitive behavioral counseling
• Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License
• Current PA Child Abuse History, PA Criminal and FBI Fingerprint Clearance, required

Duties & Responsibilities

This position is responsible for facilitating and providing direct therapeutic interventions consisting of group and individual therapy, treatment planning, designing and implementing effective interventions and strategies to promote therapeutic recovery.

The therapist is the lead team member responsible for coordinating therapeutic intervention. The therapist will be responsible for completing required documentation such as treatment and discharge plans, psycho-social history, daily progress notes, and insurance forms. The therapist maintains close communication with the child's parent(s) to monitor and promote progress.

Salary (2026-27 Rates)

Project Staff, Band 14 (190 days/10 months)

$50,409 - $63,012 annually - (Placement on band is based on direct full-time experience as a licensed clinician)

Schedule

Monday - Friday (based on district calendar)

190 days (10 months), 7.5 hrs/day.
