Role Description The Mental Health Therapist is a full-time, hybrid position based in Clarinda, IA, with opportunities for some work from home. In this role, the therapist provides individual, family, and group therapy, conducts mental health assessments, and develops treatment plans tailored to client needs. Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining a caseload, delivering evidence-based interventions, coordinating care with various stakeholders, IHHS social workers and case managers, and documenting services in accordance with agency and regulatory standards. The therapist will collaborate with community resources and multidisciplinary teams to support clients, participate in staff meetings and clinical supervision, and contribute to outreach or educational activities that promote mental health awareness.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated skills in Mental Health assessment and clinical counseling practice.
• Experience with various therapuetic models and working with diverse individual and family demographics and systems.
• Proficiency in Treatment Planning and goal-oriented intervention
• Familiarity with social service systems.
• Case Management skills, including care coordination and resource linkage is helpful.
• Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field (licensure or eligibility for licensure in Iowa preferred).
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills, with the ability to maintain clear professional boundaries.
• Commitment to culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and person-centered care.
• Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience with rural communities, as well as co-occurring conditions is beneficial.
