Description

The Buckeye Ranch is seeking a Mental Health Tech Trainer to join our Residential Treatment Program. The Mental Health Tech Trainer ensures that Mental Health Technicians receive necessary training to provide effective therapeutic trauma-informed care in the milieu. This position assists the Residential Training Supervisor with coordinating, developing, delivering, and evaluating new Mental Health Technicians during the orientation period through on-the-job training. When on a unit, serving and coaching as a Mental Health Technician, modeling best-practice methods. This position also trains and coaches current Mental Health Technicians on quality assurance checks and post-incident follow-up; participates in camera review of restraints; and provides CPI training. Administrative duties include scheduling and completing new team member sign-offs.

Schedule: Full-time, Non-Exempt (Monday - Friday, 1pm - 9pm)

Shift Differentials: Added to base rate when working the below hours

• 2nd Shift (3pm - 11pm): $1.50/hr
• 3rd Shift (11pm - 7am): $1.00/hr
• Weekends (Friday, 3pm - Monday, 6:59am): $0.50/hr

What you'll do:

• Provide orientation activities to new hires as they transition to direct care.
• Provide one-on-one scheduled coaching with each assigned trainee.
• Teach new team members prevention expectations and de-escalation methods.
• Assess the knowledge, skills, and abilities of trainees, and provide further coaching as needed.
• Provide continuous support and feedback to ensure positive acclimation.
• Train current team members as indicated based on quality assurance checks and post-incident follow-up.
• Lead CPI training and coaching.

Qualifications

Who you are:

• You have a high school diploma or GED; bachelor's degree preferred.
• You have two years of mental health experience.
• You are preferably a CPI instructor (will be required and provided by the organization).
• You have previous leadership experience.
• You have an active driver's license and proof of car insurance.
