The McLean Hospital Corporation Mass General Brigham seeks a dedicated Nursing Assistant for the 1 North inpatient unit. You will provide direct patient care to individuals with psychiatric disorders, focusing on safety and therapeutic milieu in a fast-paced setting.

The role requires a high school diploma, BLS, CPI training within 30 days of hire, and the ability to work rotating day/evening shifts in a 40-hour week on-site at 52 Oak Street.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • CPI training to be completed within 30 days of hire.
  • BLS certification required; Nursing Assistant credentials encouraged.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with care and treatment of psychiatric, drug and alcohol patients.
  • Advocate for patients who may be vulnerable or need additional support.
  • Parent/Family counseling, including Parent Management Training and Family Systems interventions
  • Adheres to guidelines for patients on special status (suicide, sexual abuse or AWOL precautions).
  • Provides shift-to-shift reports and remains on the unit during incoming shift.
  • Thinks and acts quickly and efficiently in emergencies.
  • Maintains professional boundaries in relationships with patients.
  • Completes and files all documentation promptly.

Job Summary

1 North is an inpatient unit for those with psychotic disorders, specializing in first-break cases. Our focus is symptom management and safety, ensuring a therapeutic environment to promote stabilization. This is a full time position, five shifts per week. Shifts are 8/hrs and a mix of Days and Evenings. Must be able to work a flexible schedule with availability year round on both Days and Evenings.

Summary

Responsible for providing direct care to patients with psychiatric disorder; to ensure the safety and well-being of patients; to support the maintenance of therapeutic milieu.

Essential Functions

Qualifications Education
