Job description

Join our team as a Mental Health Technician - Psychiatry at CommonSpirit Health.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and supportive services under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Assist with patient and family care needs from admission to discharge.
• Monitor patients with Q15 min. observations, including Q5, LOS, and 1:1 observations.
• Record patient vital signs, intake/output, and daily activities accurately.
• Assist nurses with patient care, including group activities and activities of daily living.
• Communicate effectively with patients in crisis and assist with patient restraint if needed.
• Maintain adequate stock of supplies and assist with unit cleanliness.
• Keep medical records updated according to legal and policy requirements.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience working with psychiatric patients in inpatient or residential settings.
• Current AHA BLS certification.
• Fire Safety certification.
• CNA or EMT certification preferred.
