SolutionHealth’s Pathways unit seeks a Mental Health Technician to support an inpatient behavioral health setting. You will work under RN supervision to provide direct patient care, help maintain a therapeutic milieu, and support safety and well-being for patients of all ages.

The role emphasizes supervised activities, crisis de-escalation, and collaboration with unit staff to deliver patient-centered care in a demanding hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or Behavioral Sciences certification required.
• 6 months experience in behavioral health setting.
• Aggression de-escalation training approved by EHS.

Responsibilities

• Participates in conversation, recreational activities, and basic living activities.
• Sets limits, confronts counterproductive behavior, and reassures orients patients.
• Performs safety checks and assists in managing therapeutic milieu.
• Collaborates with other unit personnel on crisis intervention techniques.

Job Description: Mental Health Technician – Pathways

Who We Are: Pathways is our 16-bed adult inpatient behavioral health unit. Elliot Behavioral Health Services is staffed by a team of mental health professionals who tailor both evaluation and treatment services to each individual patient. These patients with persistent mental health illnesses are admitted voluntarily or involuntarily for 5-14 days. Our state-of-the-art units provide a wide array of equipment and patient acuity depending on a nurse’s professional interests, certifications, and experience level.

About the Job:

The Mental Health Technician works under the direction of the RN Charge Nurse, and shares responsibility for providing and maintaining a therapeutic milieu through supervised therapeutic activities. The Mental Health Technician facilitates and provides direct care for patients of all ages; supports the therapeutic milieu; ensures the safety and well-being of patients.

What You’ll Do:

• Participates in conversation, recreational activities, and basic living activities
• Sets limits, confronts counterproductive behavior, and reassures orients patients
• Performs safety checks and assists in managing therapeutic milieu
• Collaborates with other unit personnel with crisis intervention techniques
• Facilitates and leads community meetings and groups

Who You Are:

• Associates degree, Certification in Behavioral Sciences program, or its equivalent coursework required
• 6 months experience in behavioral health setting
• Aggression de-escalation training approved by EHS
