Job summary

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health is seeking a Mental Health Technician to support children and youth in an inpatient psychiatric setting. You will help build independent living and social skills, implement treatment plans, and maintain safety and a therapeutic rapport with adolescents.

Responsibilities include supervising activities, redirecting challenging behavior, and assisting with clinical goals. The role offers training, competitive pay, and a sign-on bonus for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Education & experience: High school diploma and two years direct care experience or a Bachelor's degree with at least twelve credit hours in a human services discipline to include psychology, sociology, social work, education, pastoral counseling, political science, health, recreation, criminal justice, counseling.
• Physical requirements: Walking, sitting, standing; lifting and/or managing resistance up to 75-100 lbs; occasional driving; ability to meet 100% mastery of Safe and Positive Approaches.

As a Mental Health Technician at Devereux Children’s Behavioral Health Center (DCBHC) Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital you will work with other dedicated professionals who share your passion for helping individuals in need. We offer an environment that is supportive, educational and clinically focused. Devereux Children’s Behavioral Health Center (DCBHC) provides programs and services for children and adolescents who are experiencing an acute psychiatric crisis within a safe and compassionate inpatient environment. Located in Malvern, PA this position is responsible for establishing and maintaining a therapeutic rapport with adolescents while assisting, supporting and instructing individuals in self-help, coping skills and positive behavioral interventions outlined in a clinical treatment plan.

Every day as a Mental Health Technician (MHT) you will…

• Ensure the individuals you are working with are safe.
• Engage in daily activities such as Recreational and Social Activities that enhance social skill development.
• Address and redirect inappropriate behavior of individuals you are working with.
• Implement treatment plan goals and objectives.

• Base Pay: $20 - $22.88 an hour (dependent upon education and experience)
• Sign on bonus: $2,000 for FT and $500 for PT external candidates which will be paid out over their first 6 months of employment
• Available Shifts:
• 11pm- 7:30am
• must be available every other weekend and able to attend orientation for 1 week, Mon-Fri from 9am-5pm

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: High school diploma and two year’s direct care experience or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with at least twelve credit hours in a human services disciplineto include but not limited to psychology, sociology, social work, education, pastoral counseling, political science, heath, recreation, criminal justice, counseling.

Physical Requirements: Significant amounts of walking, sitting, and standing. Some lifting and/or managing resistance required related to applying physical intervention techniques upwards of 75-100 lbs. or more. Some repetitive wrist/hand movements, normal hearing and vision. Occasional use of computers and office equipment. Occasional driving of Devereux vehicles for business purposes. Ability to meet 100% mastery of Safe and Positive Approaches.
