Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Services (DPACS) in Malvern, PA is hiring a Mental Health Technician to support adolescents in an inpatient setting. You’ll help build self-help skills, reinforce coping strategies, and address behavioral concerns under a clinical treatment plan.

The role offers opportunities for growth in behavioral health, with specialized training in PBIS, ABA, TIC, Safe and Positive Approaches, DBT and IEP. Base pay ranges hourly, plus a $2,000 sign-on bonus for FT candidates.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus direct care experience or a BA with human services coursework.
  • Ability to engage with adolescents and support behavioral interventions.
  • Willingness to participate in training on PBIS, ABA, TIC, DBT and IEP.

As a Mental Health Technician at Devereux Children’s Behavioral Health Center (DCBHC) Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital you will work with other dedicated professionals who share your passion for helping individuals in need. We offer an environment that is supportive, educational and clinically focused. Devereux Children’s Behavioral Health Center (DCBHC) provides programs and services for children and adolescents who are experiencing an acute psychiatric crisis within a safe and compassionate inpatient environment. Located in Malvern, PA this position is responsible for establishing and maintaining a therapeutic rapport with adolescents while assisting, supporting and instructing individuals in self-help, coping skills and positive behavioral interventions outlined in a clinical treatment plan.

Every day as a Mental Health Technician (MHT) you will…

  • Ensure the individuals you are working with are safe.
  • Engage in daily activities such as Recreational and Social Activities that enhance social skill development.
  • Address and redirect inappropriate behavior of individuals you are working with.
  • Implement treatment plan goals and objectives.

  • Base Pay: $20 - $22.88 an hour (dependent upon education and experience)
  • Sign on bonus: $2,000 for FT and $500 for PT external candidates which will be paid out over their first 6 months of employment.
  • Available Shifts:
    • 11pm- 7:30am
    • must be available every other weekend and able to attend orientationfor 1 week, Mon-Fri from 9am-5pm

Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Services (DPACS) center serves children, adolescents and young adults with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral, emotional and psychiatric challenges and disorders. Located in West Chester and Malvern Pennsylvania, services provided include psychiatric residential treatment (PRTF), acute inpatient psychiatric hospital (AIP), assessment services, community-based mental health services, community-based employment training and social skills training, and approved private school educational services to male and female children and adolescents (6-21 years of age) with diagnoses of intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, concomitant psychiatric and behavioral challenges often associated with experiencing some level of trauma in their lives.

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: High school diploma and two year’s direct care experience or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with at least twelve credit hours in a human services discipline to include but not limited to psychology, sociology, social work, education, pastoral counseling, political science, heath, recreation, criminal justice, counseling.

Physical Requirements: Significant amounts of walking, sitting, and standing. Some lifting and/or managing resistance required related to applying physical intervention techniques upwards of 75-100 lbs. or more. Some repetitive wrist/hand movements, normal hearing and vision. Occasional use of computers and office equipment. Occasional driving of Devereux vehicles for business purposes. Ability to meet 100% mastery of Safe and Positive Approaches.
