Key Responsibilities for a Mental Health Technician (MHT) include:

  • Monitor unit patients and complete rounds as assigned
  • Participate in treatment planning
  • Assist in the admission process
  • Orient new patients to the unit and their program
  • Plan and prepare for group therapy sessions
  • Maintain patient, program, department and related documentation
Qualifications

Must be at least 21 years of age and a high school diploma.

Valid driver's license with no suspensions or tickets for major traffic violations for at least three years.

Experience working with children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbance and/or co-occurring substance abuse disorders preferred.

CPR/First Aid certification required or ability to obtain within first week of hire.

In addition, must be willing to become certified in therapeutic restraint technique program.

Additional pay offered for lifeguard certification.
