Job summary

The Ridge Behavioral Health System in Lexington, KY is seeking Mental Health Technicians for full-time and part-time overnight shifts (7pm–7am), 36 hours per week, with every-other-weekend requirements. A two-week paid orientation is provided.

Join a team focused on safety, education, and compassionate psychiatric and substance use disorder care. Responsibilities include facilitating activities, monitoring patients, and applying crisis intervention techniques to ensure patient and staff safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Some college coursework preferred.
• Experience may be accepted in lieu of college coursework.
• Must demonstrate clear communication / interaction skills and demonstrate competency in facilitating psycho-education groups.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates group activities tailored to the appropriate topic, age, and level of understanding.
• Ensures patients are consistently monitored in the proper location for the duration of activities.
• Provides appropriate crisis intervention as necessary by anticipating and responding quickly to escalating behaviors, utilizing de-escalation techniques to diffuse the situation, correctly prioritizing safety concerns.

Mental Health Technician Opportunity:

Full-Time and Part Time, 36 hours per week, 7pm - 7am. Every other weekend required.

*Must attend a two week paid hospital orientation from 8:00am-4:30pm M-F*

Located in Lexington, Kentucky, The Ridge offers a healing environment to reassure patients’ sense of security and confidentiality. Dedicated to excellence, The Ridge is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, as a licensed, 110-bed hospital, providing psychiatric (mental health) and substance use disorder (drug and alcohol rehabilitation) services to children, adolescents and adults. Inpatient care is provided on a 24-hour basis, seven days a week. Outpatient and partial hospitalization services are provided on a five-day per week basis, days and evenings. The Mental Health Technician works under direct supervision to provide clerical and patient care activities in the treatment and care of patients with psychiatric and substance abuse conditions. Manages behavioral problems and facilitates education and activity groups. Actively participates as a member of the treatment team and performs other duties as assigned.
