Qualifications

• Ability to provide structure while modeling healthy communication and emotional regulation.
• Willingness to complete CPR/First Aid and crisis prevention training.

Responsibilities

• Support therapeutic and psychoeducational groups alongside licensed clinicians.
• Coordinate program setup and prepare materials for groups.
• Assist with daily check-ins, transitions, activities, and program flow.
• Monitor attendance, participation, engagement, and behavioral needs of clients.
• Provide emotional and behavioral support to adolescents during program hours.
• Help maintain a safe, structured, therapeutic, and welcoming environment across PHP and IOP.
• Apply de-escalation and crisis-management techniques per Bright Path policies.
• Document observations, incidents, and client information accurately and promptly.
• Communicate concerns or changes in client behavior to the clinical team.
• Collaborate with clinicians, care coordinators, education staff, and other team members.

Position Summary

Bright Path is seeking an empathetic, dependable, and team-oriented Mental HealthTechnician (MHT) to support our Teen Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and IntensiveOutpatient Program (IOP). The MHT plays an essential role in supporting the dailytherapeutic structure and maintaining a safe, compassionate, inclusive, and engagingenvironment for teens receiving treatment.

This position is well suited for early-career professionals or students seeking hands-onexperience in adolescent behavioral health. It offers meaningful exposure to multiplelevels of care and the opportunity to make a positive impact each day.

Responsibilities

• Support therapeutic and psychoeducational groups within the PHP and IOPprograms alongside licensed clinicians.
• Coordinate program setup by organizing supplies and ensuring all materials areprepared and readily available for groups.
• Assist with daily check-ins, transitions, activities, and overall program flow.
• Monitor client attendance, participation, engagement, and behavioral needs.
• Provide appropriate emotional and behavioral support to adolescents duringprogram hours.
• Help maintain a safe, structured, therapeutic, and welcoming environment acrossboth programs.
• Use de-escalation and crisis-management techniques in accordance with BrightPath policies and training.
• Document relevant observations, incidents, and client information accurately andpromptly.
• Communicate concerns or changes in client behavior to the appropriate clinicalteam member.
• Collaborate with clinicians, care coordinators, education staff, and other membersof the interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with adolescents in behavioral health, education, childcare,coaching, mentoring, or another youth-development setting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately during challenging or crisissituations.
• Ability to provide consistent structure while modeling healthy communication andemotional regulation.
• Dependability, professionalism, and the ability to maintain appropriate boundarieswith clients and families.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and adapt tothe needs of both PHP and IOP programming.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe, therapeutic, inclusive, and trauma-informed
• Ability to protect client confidentiality and follow HIPAA and organizational policies.
• Willingness to complete required training, including CPR/First Aid and crisisprevention training.

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree or current enrollment in psychology, social work, humanservices, education, or a related field.
• Previous experience in a PHP, IOP, residential, inpatient, or other behavioral health setting.
• Experience supporting adolescents with mental health or behavioral needs.
• Familiarity with trauma-informed care, de-escalation techniques, and evidencebased interventions.
