Job summary

Chicago Behavioral Hospital in Des Plaines, Illinois, is seeking a compassionate Mental Health Technician (MHT) to join our inpatient treatment team. This full-time role involves monitoring patients across ages, recording vitals, and supporting therapeutic interventions under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.

You will assist with discharge planning, daily living activities, and group sessions while maintaining a safe, respectful environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; CNA preferred.
• Experience with psychiatric patient care techniques appreciated.
• Ability to follow treatment interventions and report changes to the RN.
• Flexible hours and possible overtime may be required.

Responsibilities

• Accurately record vital signs.
• Exercise judgment in patient interactions and report changes to the RN.
• Follow therapeutic interventions and participate in CPI-led groups.
• Assist patients through discharge and daily living activities.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment.
