Job summary

Universal Health Services in Houston seeks full-time Mental Health Technicians (MHTs) to support patients across inpatient and outpatient programs. The MHT provides continuous care, supervision, and therapeutic engagement to create a safe, structured environment and serve as a positive role model.

Responsibilities include maintaining a safe environment, assisting with activities of daily living, conducting rounds, facilitating participation in therapeutic activities, and applying crisis

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: One year of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.
• Certifications: CPR and Handle With Care certifications; certifications may be obtained during orientation.

• Assist patients with activities of daily living and establishing and maintaining good health by using effective, therapeutic communication techniques.
• Conduct environmental rounds on unit for safety and document observations

• Implement crisis management skills as directed by licensed staff.

Mental Health Technician (MHT) Position Summary

We are currently seeking full-time mid-shift Mental Health Technicians (MHTs) to support our patients. As a member of the treatment team, the MHT provides continuous care, supervision, and therapeutic engagement to patients. This role is essential in creating a safe, structured, and supportive environment while serving as a positive role model for patients.

Mental Health Technician (MHT) Key Responsibilities Include
