Mental Health Technician – Behavioral Health – Days

Work location: Texas Health Dallas, 8200 Walnut Hill Ln, Dallas, TX 75231

Work hours: Fulltime, Days; 7:00a – 7:00p

Here’s What You Need
  • High School Diploma and 1 year of experience required or
  • 1 year of inpatient experience in the behavioral health field as a MHT, PCT, CNA, or related position highly preferred.
  • High School Diploma and CNA - Certified Nurse Aide certification required or
  • Associate’s degree in healthcare field required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare field preferred
  • Other – CLIAFE; Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required.
What You Will Do
  • Assist with and help coordinate patient care.
  • Assist with all patient care provided by the multidisciplinary team.
  • Encourage team members.
  • Provide instruction to team members.
  • Greet and receive patients admitting/arriving to the unit/area.
  • Orient patient to surroundings, review safety procedures, and unit rules/guidelines while coordinating with the nurse.
  • Prepare patient to be discharged/transferred.
  • Assist with gathering belongings and making sure all belongings are returned to the patient (except for medication).
