The Mental Health Technician (MHT), under close supervision, provides non-professional direct or indirect care for consumers of behavioral health treatment in an inpatient care setting. Responsibilities include participation in de-escalation activities, ensuring consumer safety, role modeling effective problem solving and decision-making skills, and assisting in recreational and therapeutic activities. MHTs verify consumer location every 15 minutes, monitor responses to medications, and record patient information in electronic medical records.
No experience or education required. Strong commitment to patient well-being and belief in recovery is essential. Preference may be given to CNA-certified applicants.
