The University of Vermont Health Network is seeking a Mental Health Technician for its Inpatient Psychiatry unit. This role involves maintaining a safe therapeutic environment, documentation, and support for mental health observation. The Mental Health Technician is a member of the interdisciplinary team on Inpatient Psychiatry whose duties include maintaining a safe therapeutic environment, documentation, and managing emergency situations. Duties are performed in accordance with hospital policies and procedures under the direction and supervision of the nurse manager. Inpatient Psychiatry supports mental health constant observation on other floors in the hospital as needed.

EDUCATION:
High school graduate or GED required. AS or BS degree in mental health or human services related field preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Patient care experience and experience with mental health preferred.
SHIFTS:
Full Time (36 hours per week) available.
Part Time (20 hours per week) available.
Additional Details:
Must have full-time availability for first week of employment to attend orientations.
