Job summary

Friends Hospital is seeking Mental Health Technicians (MHT) to support direct patient care across age groups on a 100-acre campus in Philadelphia. The MHTs assist with unit programming, facilitate groups, and help patients stay engaged in active treatment at all times.

They support daily living activities and recreational programs within each patient’s capabilities while collaborating with the treatment team to provide compassionate, comprehensive care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in an area of human services, which includes, but may not be limited to: psychology, sociology, political science, counseling, criminal justice, pastoral counseling, elementary/special education, or family therapy.
• OR

Responsibilities

• Assist in direct care and management of patients across all age ranges with medical and behavioral issues as directed by the treatment team.
• Facilitate and conduct groups and ensure patients are engaged in active treatment at all times.
• Assist with daily leisure activities and all activities of daily living within the functional ability of patients.

Education

Bachelor's degree in human services

High school diploma or GED + 2 years experience in human service field
