Mental Health Technicians are responsible for the following:
Assist the RN in delivering care, observe patient behaviors, and document any changes in patients' mood or behavior in a timely manner.
Provide one-on-one sessions with assigned patients as needed.
Mental Health Technicians will maintain a full patient caseload with an assigned primary nurse in an inpatient setting, providing care effectively and compassionately for all patients.
Qualifications for this position include:
High School Diploma required.
At least 12 college credits; a full college degree is preferred.
Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a behavioral health field is preferred.
One year of experience with behavioral health clients is preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA is required.
Must be trained in PEAT and able to safely schedule and restrain an aggressively acting-out patient.
