Job summary

Voyages Behavioral Health of Sugar Land is hiring a Mental Health Technician (MHT) for a full-time role. You will observe patients, participate in admission/discharge procedures, and assist with vital signs and activities of daily living.

The position emphasizes patient education and group activities while supporting nursing staff. The role requires a high school diploma; CNA and BLS are preferred/required by state policies, with crisis management certification as per hospital standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; CNA preferred by state.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Crisis management certification per hospital policy.
• Experience not required, 2–3 years in acute hospital or similar preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observe and record patient information for treatment plans.
• Assist with admission protocols and discharge processes.
• Maintain direct patient observation and assist with ADLs.
• Lead patient education and activity groups; support nursing staff.
• Respond to codes and acute patient situations as first responder; adapt to patient acuity.
