As a Lead Mental Health Technician, you will supervise and support direct care staff while ensuring the safety, structure, and success of daily programming for youth in our residential treatment facility. You will play a key leadership role by coaching staff, ensuring documentation is accurate and timely, and intervening in crisis situations when necessary.
This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership, de-escalation, and communication skills who is passionate about making a difference in young lives.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise, schedule, and evaluate Psychiatric Assistants/Unit Leads
Intervene in crisis situations and apply approved de-escalation techniques
Ensure proper documentation and monitor treatment plan compliance
Coordinate staffing needs and maintain staff-to-resident ratios
Round on units to monitor programming and staff engagement
Train and support mental health techs in safety, documentation, and therapeutic techniques
Maintain a safe, respectful, and therapeutic environment
Assist with admissions, discharges, and transportation of residents
Minimum Age: 21 years old
Education & Experience (One of the following):
Bachelor’s degree + 1 year experience in a residential care setting
2 years of college + 2 years relevant experience
High school diploma + 4 years experience in residential care
Preferred: Degree in Psychology, Sociology, or a related field
Required: Valid state driver’s license and supervisory experience
