Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a dedicated nursing assistant to provide routine patient care for adult, geriatric, and psychiatric populations under supervision.

You will assist with activities of daily living, participate in therapeutic activities, and help maintain care standards while complying with safety and privacy policies. A high school diploma and BLS certification are required; CNA certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule (e.g. 24/7, weekend, holiday, on call availability).

Responsibilities

• Provides and ensures physical needs are met for all patients by assisting with ADLs.
• Conducts and participates in therapeutic milieu activities under clinical staff guidance.
• Participates as a team member to improve quality care standards.
• Complies with JCAHO National Patient Safety Goals.
• Adapts communication and care to patient needs while respecting privacy.
• Performs other related duties as required.
