Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide delegated nursing care for adult and geriatric patients under physician and clinical staff guidelines. You will support daily living activities, participate in milieu activities, and help maintain safety and privacy across the unit.

The role requires a high school diploma, BLS certification, CPI completion within a month, and a preference for CNA certification. A patient-centered, team-oriented approach is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• AHA Health Care Provider (BLS) certification required; complete CPI within first month.
• CNA certification preferred.
• Proficiency in using computers, software, and clear verbal/written communication.

Responsibilities

• Provides and ensures physical needs are met for patients by assisting with ADLs.
• Assists with activities of daily living such as oral care and meals.
• Participates in therapeutic milieu activities under clinical staff guidance.
• Contributes to improvements in quality care standards on the unit.
• Follows JCAHO National Patient Safety Goals.
• Maintains privacy and adapts explanations to patient population.
