Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Mental Health Technician to support patient care across inpatient units. You will work under the direction of a registered nurse, promoting safety, comfort and patient satisfaction while performing a broad range of unit-based tasks and direct/indirect care.

Required include a high school diploma or GED, completion of a CNA/ CMA/ PCT program, or active pursuit of a related degree; prior behavioral health experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
• High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Completion of CNA/CMA/PCT program or related nursing program.
• Active pursuit of an Associate or Bachelor degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care to diverse populations under RN supervision.
• Communicate with patients and health care team regarding status and care.
• Support safety, comfort, and patient satisfaction across units.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and PI activities.
• Assist with admission to discharge workflow and documentation.
