Job summary

Wood County Norwood Health Center seeks a dedicated Mental Health Technician to support daily care for residents with mental health needs, assisting with treatment plans and maintaining a safe, respectful environment.

Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living, documenting observations, and collaborating with nurses and physicians to implement care plans. CNA certification required for ongoing renewal.

Qualifications

• Must be able to intervene with agitated, depressed or assaultive patients in a therapeutic manner.
• Must write legibly and communicate effectively, verbally.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow safety policies.
• Meet ongoing requirements to maintain CNA certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess vital signs or other procedures as needed and report findings to the nurse.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living and encourage independence.
• Document observations and collaborate with the care team to implement plans.
• Provide 1:1 patient interaction and participate in group activities.
