Job summary

AMFM Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Technician (Client Coordinator) in the Fairfax County area. You will support clients with daily activities, ensure safety during transportation, and document observations for the clinical team.

The role involves leading group activities, assisting with medication self-administration, and maintaining a supportive residence. A strong work ethic and passion for mental health are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
• Experience in Mental Health or Residential Treatment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to clients with daily activities in a structured environment.
• Transport clients to activities and medical appointments safely.
• Observe client behavior, document findings, and relay to clinical teams.
• Assist nursing staff with medication self-administration and safety protocols.
• Maintain clean, organized residential facilities.
• Lead and document recovery-focused group activities.
• Respond to crises in accordance with safety procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Education:High School Diploma or GED

• Background Check:Must pass ADP Selective Screening Services and any additional required background checks

• Valid Driver’s License:Must meet car insurance eligibility requirements

• Physical Requirements:Ability to work on a computer, walk/stand for long periods, lift up to 20 lbs., and navigate stairs

Preferred Requirements:

• Education:Bachelors degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related feild

• Experience:Experience in Mental Health or Residential Treatment

Your Role & Responsibilities

As aMental Health Technician (Client Coordinator), you’ll be a vital part of the treatment process, ensuring that clients receive the care, guidance, and support they need. Your daily responsibilities will include:

• Providing Direct Support– Assist clients with daily activities, ensuring a structured and supportive environment

• Transportation & Safety– Safely transport clients to scheduled activities and medical appointments

• Behavioral Observation– Monitor client behavior, document observations, and collaborate with clinical teams

• Medication Support– Work with the nursing team to oversee medication self-administration

• Environment Maintenance– Maintain cleanliness and organization within residential facilities

• Facilitating Group Activities– Lead and document recovery-focused group sessions

• Emergency Response– Adhere to safety protocols, conduct safety drills, and respond to crises as needed
