To assist with the day-to-day management of patients on an inpatient psychiatric unit under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and Nurse Manager. The mental health technician will support activities of daily living for patients unable to perform these tasks. They will be an integral part of the patient's treatment team, assisting with group activities, which may include co-facilitation under the direction of therapy staff. Responsibilities also include collecting vital signs, patient information, and accuchecks. The technician is responsible for 15-minute safety checks and helps de-escalate patient situations on the unit.
