GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Maintains safety and structure by observing and recording patient information pertinent to the treatment plan and reports information to appropriate staff. Works under nursing supervision.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Collaborates with the multi-disciplinary team to assess changes in patient status and gathers pertinent patient care data through rounding and patient interaction in inpatient or outpatient settings. (60%)
  2. Organizes patient care tasks according to priority and importance. (20%)
  3. Obtains vital signs, height, and weight measurements; provides crisis intervention to maintain safety; responds to facility Code events. (10%)
  4. Reports changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff and suggests modifications to the treatment plan. (10%)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • Bachelor’s degree or 1-2 years of relevant experience/education as determined by the company in lieu of a degree.
  • Non-violent crisis intervention certification required within six months of hire.
  • CPR certification – American Heart Association.
  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.

Preferred

  • 1-3 years of mental health or clinical experience.
