The Mental Health Technician performs routine patient care duties under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include assisting with patient admissions, discharges, transfers, monitoring patients for potential aggressive behaviors, and intervening to de-escalate when necessary. The technician also reports sensory perceptual issues, monitors safety, and encourages patient independence while ensuring safety, rights, comfort, and a therapeutic environment.
