Job summary

Windsor Laurelwood Center for Behavioral Health in Willoughby, Ohio is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Technician for full-time work. Shifts include day, evening, or overnight with every-other weekend commitments and differential pay for evening/night/weekend hours.

You will support a multidisciplinary team, provide direct patient care, document changes in behavior, and assist with groups while delivering trauma-informed and age-appropriate care.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required; associates/bachelors preferred.
  • Pursuing behavioral health, psychology, nursing or human services is preferred.
  • Previous experience in mental health or substance use treatment is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Provide routine patient care as required in a psychiatric environment.
  • Document and communicate unusual or erratic changes in client behaviors.
  • Assist with patient groups and activities.
  • Work with culturally and generationally diverse populations to meet individual needs.
  • Provide trauma-informed and age-specific care.
  • Maintain therapeutic boundaries and utilize crisis intervention techniques.

Mental Health Technician Opportunity -

Originally established in 1898, Windsor Laurelwood has served the community for over 125 years, providing high-quality behavioral health and substance use treatment services to adults, adolescents, and children. Our multidisciplinary treatment team includes board-certified psychiatrists, psychologists, registered nurses, licensed social workers, case managers, milieu and activity therapists. The Windsor Laurelwood team is dedicated to helping you regain control of your life.

The Mental Health Technician is a vital part of Windsor Laurelwood Center for Behavioral Health’s treatment team. This is a full time position with an opportunity to work on the day, evening, or overnight shift. Our full time positions require employees to work every other weekend and there is a competitive shift differential for the evening, night, and weekend shifts.
